Clinton Anderson- Down Under Horsemanship-Clinton has quite a few videos for sale, covering topics like round penning, lungeing, ground work, working a young horse, horse problems- like standing for mounting, clipping, exposing to new objects/ desensitizing, etc. His style is vaguely like Parelli’s, in that he believes in ground work- but he emphasizes that his groundwork “lessons” will each have a distinct purpose when you are on the horses back. His videos are very well organized and follow a step by step program. He always explains the reason for asking a horse to do something a certain way. He has a very relaxed attitude and the videos are pleasant to watch and easy to follow.

Mark Rashid- If you have to categorize, Mark has a style of training similar to John Lyons, or Clinton Anderson, but has no gimmicks- no special equipment required. He gets asked quite often what his “style” is, and he says he’s just a horse trainer. His definition of “natural horsemanship” would be to ride naked, or really to not ride at all, since it’s not really natural for a horse to have someone on his back anyway! (he does have a sense of humor) He has written 3 books, all of which are excellent reading and are available through Amazon.com. You can also read about them or buy them on his website. They are written in a story format and are very entertaining, fun, and educational. Mark has a very calm teaching style- He looks at the rider as well as the horse, and it’s very interesting- many horse “problems” are inadvertently caused by things we do/or don't do without realizing it. Mark opens your eyes to the whole picture.
